Tasks of the department:

– Compilation of coordinated public health reports required for the authorization of plant protection products, for working out the position of the regulatory authority – the Office of the Chief Medical Officer – with participation of competent contributors of the National Institute of Chemical Safety, the National Institute of Occupational Health and the National Institute for Food and Nutrition Science, for the Central Service for Plant Protection and Soil Conservation, according to the Ministerial Decree 89/2004 (V. 15.) of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development,

– Compilation of coordinated public health reports required for the authorization of yield enhancing materials, with participation of competent contributors of the National Institute of Chemical Safety, the National Institute of Environmental Health and the National Institute for Food and Nutrition Science, for the Central Service for Plant Protection and Soil Conservation, according to the Ministerial Decree 36/2006 (V. 18.) of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development,

– Toxicological judgement of potentially dangerous chemicals upon request of the main authority and external institutions, according to the Health Ministerial Decree 44/2000 (XII. 27.) and the Health, Social and Family Affairs Ministerial Decree 33/2004 (IV. 26.),

– Participation in drafting legal measures and giving opinion on finished ones, according to the scope of action of the Department

– Participation in the training and postgraduate education activity of the National Institute of Chemical Safety.
